11 Years Supporting Our Troops

The Reason We're Here

We Offer: Adopt-A-Soldier Program, Veteran Support Services and The Bunker Recording Studio

Hello and welcome to OSA. I wish to make a quick statement here. Joining the U.S. Military is honorable, and if called to war, these men and women are always ready to defend our country and our freedom. Which means they deserve our support! Though our name is Operation Soldier Assist, we support all branches of the military including the Coast Guard. Yes, the Coast Guard is now under Homeland Security, however they have fought in Iraq, and in Afghanistan.

So, with that said... I started our Adopt-A-Soldier program 11 years ago. We often get letters from our troops requesting support, because government hired contractors are charging way too much at the base stores. Sometimes just because of a poor stock of supplies, such was the case at the Afghanistan border. Supply trucks could not always get through, do to border closures. However from my point of view it is simple, if they don't have to spend money on the items they request, then that gives them more to send home to their families.

Some soldiers just want to have a person to write to and visit with. Though they don't always have time to email and unless they are at a F.O.B. (forward operating base), they may not have access to a computer to email their supporters. Most all of our soldiers appreciate some help with the following items: personal hygiene items, snacks, books, magazines, you might send them some Cd's, to listen too or DVD's, so they can watch a movie and relax. Some of you may be able to afford to send a new pair of boots, and new uniforms items. I know some people may feel that boots and new uniform items are over the top, they're NOT. A uniform allowance is given to military personnel. However, quite often they forfeit many normal needs to cover their uniform costs. However most of them send their pay home to support their families. Please consider helping, you will enjoy visiting with the soldier you adopt and will encourage them greatly with your support.

If you choose to join us in the adopt-a-soldier program, this is a serious commitment for the duration of the soldier's deployment (usually 10 months).

Please note, the above-mentioned items are just examples, you decide how you will support the soldier you adopt. We just ask you to put yourself in their place, and think of what you would like if you were the one deployed. Thanks again for visiting us and please tell your friends about SoldierAssist.com. If you wish to adopt a soldier, use this link. One more thing, many adopt-a-soldier groups charge a fee, or they require you to purchase support items from them. We do NOT AGREE with this practice and we NEVER charge you anything.

Finally, Jesus said: "For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ Matt 25: 35-40 NLT

Expanding our Support

We are currently in the process of building the Bunker recording studio. The Bunker will serve our active personnel and our veterans within 5 years post military service (with a DD 214 form to show honorable discharge). They will NOT be charged to record their music. The public however will be charged standard studio fees.

Advertising links & logos

OSA is completely SELF FUNDED, we NEVER request cash/monetary donations. We will never allow MONEY to be an issue in supporting our troops or QUESTIONING our INTEGRITY. We do however trade advertising space for products for our soldiers, office operations or the new recording studio. The businesses on this site have been VERY generous in supporting both Operation Soldier Assist and our deployed military personnel.
